About the Area
Blackstone Edge Reservoir Walk starts from the well established White House Pub Littleborough Lancashire. It's past history dates back to 1671. In those days it was used by travellers as a stop over on the turnpike roads between Rochdale, Littleborough and and West Halifar. Today the The White House is a popular stop for walkers and locals providing refreshments and drinks. Similarly the four reservoirs (Blackstone Edge, Light Hazzles, Warland and Whiteholme Reservoirs) also developed over time as water supply.
Durng the 19th and early 20th Century, water supplying growing populations in the area grew from the hills of South Pennines with a vast network of reservoirs, drains and channels. In fact our walk passed some of these drains revealing pipes visible above ground.
About Filming
The Weather was a long awaited summers day. That made filming results clear and colourful. Having said that the wind was very much against us. Depending on my many cameras, wind shield does help to hinder the wind howl. Some cameras work better than others, but that day I was using my favourite Sony ZV-1 a very modern useful digital camera.
About the Soundtrack
My choice of music usually depends on the type of walk. Blackstone Edge location is very popular area and the particular route we took was easy and pleasant. My Fantasy track fitted the mood of a simple relaxing day with no challenges to confront in walking.
